Our financial and economic impact in Georgia remains significant. Approximately 7% of foreign investment in Georgia came from BP and its partners in 2007. While our priority is to manage safe and reliable operations, we also continue to be active in managing a various social and environmental commitments.
The gas from Shah Deniz Stage 1 is currently sold to Azerbaijan, GOGC (Georgia) and BOTAS (Turkey) and is delivered through SCP
Shah Deniz production is currently around 700 million standard cubic feet per day (about 19.8 million cubic meters per day) of gas and about 40,000 barrels of condensate per day from four wells
The total volume of oil and condensate exported via BTC to date is about 397 million barrels (over 53 million tonnes)
The 500th tanker – the St Helen - departed from Ceyhan in Turkey on June 14th with the oil transported through BTC
Efficiency rates, measured by the extent to which oil was successfully transported through the Georgian section of the pipeline have reached at or very close to 100% for the last 12 months
Profit tax payment to the state budget totalled $25.4 million from all the BTC business partners in 2007
We have initiated a full re-commissioning programme, including line fills, and will restart the pipeline when we have fully satisfied ourselves of the integrity of the pipeline.
“BP is part of modern Georgian history.” – says Gia Gvaladze, who is very first Georgian employee in BP Georgia.
