
Our financial and economic impact in Georgia remains significant. Approximately 7% of foreign investment in Georgia came from BP and its partners in 2007. While our priority is to manage safe and reliable operations, we also continue to be active in managing various social and environmental commitments.
BTC has continued to transport oil during the last few months to world markets. Operation of the pipeline was largely unaffected by the conflict although by coincidence it was shut down from 6th August for 2 weeks due to a problem in Turkey.
Operation of the Baku-Supsa pipeline was suspended in mid-August for safety reasons due to the conflict. We are monitoring the situation and will restart the pipeline when it is safe to do so.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a relatively new concept for Georgia, but not for BP in Georgia. The company has chosen to take a socially responsible approach to its business for many reasons. ► more details
